About the Artist
Meg Newberg
Meg Newberg grew up just north of Tucson, Arizona. She spent her childhood building forts in the wash by day and watching the sunset and moon rise by night. Countless hours of canyoneering, camping and hiking have fostered in her a deep love for every aspect of nature. Her oil paintings capture the local beauty and unique light of the Sonoran Desert.
Meg attended the University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University. Although she is already an internationally recognized clay artist, the light on the Catalina Mountains constantly calls her back to paint and canvas. Meg has studied under Phil Stark, Brenda Semanick, and R.A. Heichberger.
